Nick Collins – Microtonal Set

Time: Friday, 28.5. 20:30h

This set will explore various generative microtonal works, including live coded soundscapes, controlled detuning, dissonance manipulation in a 28-tone equal tempered space, and a decisemitonal sonata with an infinitely long development section (the set may seem a little long at this point). Experimental iPhone apps including RISCy and TOPLAPapp may also make an appearance, and who knows where we will end up?
A free album of microtonal tempo canons 'Canonic Hill Loss' has recently been released as no stress charity-ware, at http://www.cogs.susx.ac.uk/users/nc81/canonichillloss.html

Artist Bio:
Nick Collins has appeared in many places and guises. These might include falling off a piano stool under computer direction in Sydney, haphazardly touring the world with Swedish audiovisual duo klipp av, or jogging while singing for Brighton street-art. He is fascinated by the vast algorithmic potential of music, but hopefully won't be too busy contemplating this to actually perform.
