The Art.on.Wires festival takes place at Chateu Neuf in Majorstuen, a central part of Oslo. Chateu Neuf is an event and performance centre run by The Norwegian Students' Society. Majorstuen is a vibrant part of the city with many shops, restaurants, parks and cafes. Next door to Chateu Neuf is the Norwegian Music Academy and over the street is the Majorstuen subway station as well as bus and tram stops. Transport
You can get to and from Art.on.Wires by subway, (Tbane), tram, bus or taxi. Public transport in Oslo is quite good and frequent until it shuts down around midnight. In the area around Chateu Neuf is called Majorstuen. There are several tram/bus stops and Majorstuen Tbane station is right opposite. All subway lines (1-6) stop at Majorstuen and in addition trams 11, 12, 19 and bus routes 20, 22, 25, 42, 45, and 46. Schedules and a tour planner are available at Trafikanten. There is also an iPhone app wich displays real-time traffic data.
Tickets for public transport inside Oslo cost 27 NOK (or 40 NOK at the driver) for single tickets. We recommend you buy a 7-day ticket (7-dagersbillett) for 210 NOK which is the cheapest alternative when you commute twice every day.
Taxis are expensive (~160 - 200 NOK for a ride inside the city), so please consider walking first. If you still like to take a cab, telefon numbers are 02323 for OsloTaxi and 08000 for NorgesTaxi.

Oslo is a quite expensive city and although there are a plenty of hotels and bed&breakfast houses in Majorstuen, there are cheaper alternatives to stay in town. Below are some recommendations:

Catering
During Art.on.Wires we will provide an exclusive lunch buffet, created by Wolfgang Matglede, a German gourmet chef. The buffet will be open every day between 13-14h. Soft drinks, water and coffee/tee are available throughout the day as well. Beer and other alcoholic drinks are sold at the bar in the evenings. There are also plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes for eating outside Chateu Neuf just down the street (200m).
